Co-op editing

Edit one project together in real time.

On this page

Bandrek adds real-time co-op editing: shared project sessions over the Stegripe relay. Co-op is optional: offline single-user editing works with no network.

Important

Co-op requires an activated Stegripe license. Without one, co-op and full-feature gates stay unavailable (trial/simple mode). See License.

How a session works

  1. The host creates a party and gets a short party code.
  2. The host shares the party code with friends.
  3. Friends join the party with that code.
  4. While the session is active, edits sync to all members through the relay.

What is synced

  • Project settings, library/timeline metadata, transforms and snapshots
  • Asset offers: file bytes for imports, which the host applies authoritatively

Your display name (from your Stegripe / Discord-linked name when available) appears in the roster and in hold/sync messages.

The host is the source of truth

The relay routes messages between party members; it is not a cloud project hosting service. Saved project files stay on the host’s disk.

Warning

Relay payloads are not long-term backups. Save locally on the host, just as you would in single-player.

Ending a session

  • Leave co-op anytime: this stops sync and releases party holds.
  • When everyone leaves or the host ends the party, session tokens stop working.

Privacy

See the Data policy for exactly what is sent during co-op.
